Season 2 of the Drone Racing League premieres tonight on ESPN

Drone racing is coming to your TV once again.

The premiere of season 2 of the Drone Racing League Allianz World Championship airs tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN 2. The season will include a total of 16 one-hour episodes.

Tonight’s racers will fly at the Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins (Miami Dolphin’s owner Stephen Ross’s venture-capital firm RSE Ventures has invested in The Drone Racing League).  Following Miami, the 2017 season moves to Atlanta, New Orleans, Boston, and Munich, culminating in the World Championship in London, set in the historic Alexandra Palace.

Here’s the complete air schedule:

Earlier this month, the Drone Racing League announced that it raised more than $20 million in a Series B funding round led by Sky, Liberty Media Corporation (owner of Formula 1) and Lux Capital. The league also announced a partnership with the Amazon Prime Video series “The Grand Tour.” Videos from the race will be released in August and September, ahead of “The Grand Tour” Season 2 later this year.

Want to get into drone racing yourself? Here’s my recommendation for the equipment you need for getting started.

  1. Are there any favourites we should be rooting for? Don’t have access to ESPN TV here but hopefully will get access to some repeats or so and be able to follow!

Would be great if you could keep us posted.
