Looking to snag a great deal on the drone?
If you’re not ready to go for the spiffy new Mavic 2 yet and are looking to save some money on last year’s model, head to B&H Photo for some great deals happening now.
There are deals on DJI, Parrot and even Star Wars drones. And possibly the best deal of them all comes on the Yuneec front — with B&H offering a whopping $740 off one of Yuneec’s best drones. Scroll down to see all the deals.
On the DJI front, B&H has sales on the DJI Phantom 4 and Spark drones.
The DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+ Quadcopter, typically $1,499, is going for $1,299 for a $200 savings. The Phantom 4 has obstacle avoidance on the front of the drone, gimbal-stabilized 4K60 / 20MP imaging and up to 30 minutes of flight time.
Save $50 on the DJI Spark, which is DJI’s smallest drone and is on sale for $349, down from $399. That won’t get you the remote controller, which I typically recommend getting, but adding the remote controller costs just $50 through B&H, which used to cost $200 extra by way of the Fly More Combo.
B&H is offering $150 off the Parrot Bebop 2 drone with FPV Goggles, down to $349 from $499. Launched in 2015, it’s a somewhat outdated drone, but it’s also half the size of a Phantom or Typhoon and incredibly light. At the new price, it is a bit more akin to the DJI Spark, though I’m not sure I would recommend the Bebop over the Spark for most users.
DJI’s closest competitor, Yuneec, is also on sale through B&H. The Typhoon H drone, which I absolutely love, is possibly THE BEST deal of B&H’s drone week. The Typhoon H Kit with SkyView, an extra battery and backpack is going for $999. That’s $740 off the original price of $1,740, and it even comes with Yuneec’s extended warranty plan called “YES!,” which covers manufacturer defects, such as electronics problems or software issues, such as a flyaway. All Yuneec customers get a standard one-year warranty, but the YES! extended warranty plan extends that out an additional year.
Yuneec’s Typhoon H is probably the closest competitor of any to DJI’s lineup, and offers features DJI’s consumer line doesn’t, such as 6 rotors for added safety and a built-in screen on the remote controller run on an Android operating system.
The final deal I’m loving via B&H’s drone week is not a camera drone — it’s a toy drone (or a collector’s item for Star Wars aficionados).
Propel’s Star Wars 74-Z Speeder Bike Quadcopter is on sale for $74 off, down to just $55 from $129. My biggest complaint about this drone was simply the cost, but at just $55 this looks like a winner.
The hand-painted drones are numbered, certified and packed in a special collectable display. One really cool feature about this drone is its battle abilities. They have eye-safe lasers that can be fired at other Star Wars drones. If a drone is hit, it will wobble. If it takes three hits, it will crash land. This was a super fun feature that you wouldn’t find in most cheap toy drones, and gives me reason to want to fly this drone all the time.
So what are you waiting for? Happy flying, and happy shopping!
