Time to earn some money for your drone photos and videos. The end of 2018 means we’re in full-on drone video and photo awards season, and there’s another great Drone Film Festival waiting for you to enter.
Carmaker Peugeot and dronemaker DJI have partnered up for another year of its Drone Film Festival in 2019, and the grand prize includes a luxury vacation in Germany and a drone workshop hosted by DJI.
The two companies are now looking for filmmakers from around to submit their films in any of the following four categories: Storytelling, Landscape, Sports and Experimental.
Entries are being accepted between now until 28 February 2019 at this site. To submit your movie, you must upload the file to a publicly accessible video portal, such as Vimeo or YouTub, and include that link in your online application. Judges include German actress Marie Bäumer and German actor Simon Schwarz.
The finalists will be invited in April 2019 to a grand final in Germany, at the new five-star luxury Hotel The Diaoyutai Mansion Frankfurt.
There, winners will get to attend a three-day drone workshop hosted by DJI alongside the best pilots in the world. They will also be awarded “everything they need to shoot a great drone movie,” including two Peugeot Traveller MPV vehicles that have six individual seats to use for up to six weeks, a complete DJI drone set and 5,000 euro (worth about $5,200 USD).
This is the third time this drone film competition has been hosted. Last year’s competition received 420 submissions from 42 countries.

The DJI and Peugeot Drone Film Festival isn’t the only contest worth entering right now. There are a handful of other drone photo or video contests happening right now, so you may want to consider entering your footage in all of them. B&H Photo is holding a photo contest that ends this week, and the grand prize is an $1,000 gift card. And a whopping $10,000 in total prizes are up for grabs in the second annual AirVuz video contest. Grand prizes of $3,000 USD will be awarded to both the Video of the Year and FPV Video of the Year, and the People’s Choice winner will receive $1,000 USD.
