SpinUp 2020 hits YouTube Live this weekend

SpinUp is an annual gathering of some of the most vivacious drone pilots. The annual meetup was created by and for the YouTube drone community. And since meetups aren’t exactly happening this year, it’s perfectly fitting that SpinUp 2020 is held entirely on YouTube anyway.

SpinUp 2020 is set for this Saturday, Sept. 12, on the Ready Set Drone Youtube channel. This year’s event will be hosted by Kelly Shores of Ready Set Drone, with appearances by other drone celebrity cohosts including  Ken HeronSean OzzChris Rollins and Brennon Edwards.

The event will be broadcast live on Sept. 12 on YouTube from 11 a.m. ET through 4 p.m.

The event will feature speakers from the drone community, giveaways, contests, YouTubers, and much more. And yes, one of those speakers includes yours truly, The Drone Girl. I’ll be giving a video seminar on “How to turn your drone business into a brand.”

Plus, expect other great talks, lessons or interactive sessions on topics including drone photography, drone video, FPV freestyle, FPV drone racing, drones in industry, aviation, and breaking out on YouTube. The list of guest speakers is set to include Rachel Jacobson, the recently named President of the Drone Racing League, Miriam McNabb of one of my other favorite drone news sites (besides my own, of course!), and Zoe Stumbaugh, one of the world’s top drone racers.

Unlike many other drone conferences that have gone virtual this year, SpinUp 2020 is totally free to watch on YouTube.

That said, you can purchase a ticket for upgraded perks, including ticket levels that unlike swag, raffle entries, access to a speakers chat area and ability to submit live questions. Paid ticket options run from $15 to $115.

Can’t wait for Saturday? In the meantime, I’ve put together a guide of other great (mostly free!) online drone content to watch or interact with if you’re still trapped indoors and bored at home, as well as a list of 8 great ways to keep your drone hobby alive when you’re stuck at home.
